Gordon Moody employee’s, service users, and ex-service users are coming together to raise money for Mind by taking part in a 5-a-side football event, The Moody Cup, on Friday 8th July 2022 at Goals in Dudley, kick-off at 4pm.

Gordon Moody FC

A group of service users from our Dudley centre formed Gordon Moody FC and have been playing in a local league for over three months – with mixed results, see the full story here – but the experience has helped the team bond, increase their fitness, and share their experiences of being at Gordon Moody with other teams.

The inspiration

The success story of Gordon Moody FC prompted the wider Gordon Moody team to want to get in on the action and raise funds for a good cause – and The Moody Cup was born. The teams will take part in a mini league, before the top four move into the semi-final and the winners into the final.

The teams

Who is your favourite to win?

  • Pretty in Pink
  • Badder in Blue
  • More than Goody FC
  • Yoghurt Dippers
  • Beckenham Ballers
  • Core

But why raise money for Mind?

The service users choose to support MIND due to the links between mental health and gambling addiction. The number of applicants to Gordon Moody who have been diagnosed with mental health issues steadily increases. The most prevalent mental health challenges faced by our service users are depression, anxiety, emotionally unstable personality disorder, PTSD, and anti-social personality disorder.

We are proud to be supporting this fantastic charity – all funds raised will go to them.

How you can support

Participants and spectators are asked to make a donation via Just Giving. All donations welcome, whether you can attend or not.
